The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We currently have an opportunity available for a Sales Representative in Columbus, Ohio for our National Smallwares Division. This position is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional sales leader to join our team. The Sales Representative is responsible for selling restaurant equipment and supplies to assigned clients as well as developing and increasing our market share within your region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with existing clients and seeks prospective clients through use of sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, internet web sites, and other sources
• Travel from time-to-time to call on regular and prospective clients to solicit orders
• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalogs and emphasizes sellable features
• Quotes prices and credit terms
• Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained
• Prepares proposals in response to RFP's
• Estimates date of delivery to client, based on knowledge of Company’s delivery schedules
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts
• Manages inventory issues with each client
• Enters new client data and other sales data for current clients into computer database
• Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts
• Investigates and resolves client problems
• Develops marketing plan to increase sales for each client
• Attend trade shows

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Sales experience in the food equipment industry is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sense of urgency
• Strong attention to detail

• Interpersonal communication skills
• Intermediate computer knowledge
